Award-winning Scottish spa

Gleneagles Spa and Hotel is one of the most luxurious spas in the world, having won a British Beauty Award for Hotels in both 2008 and 2009. Gleneagles is situated in the heart of Scotland, surrounded by picturesque countryside.

When the ESPA spa opened at Gleneagles in 2008, the proprietors had been looking for quality wood flooring, both for the spa itself and the restaurant.

“We wanted a hardwearing floor for the spa that also gave the room a warm, luxurious feel. So we commissioned a designer to find some top-quality wood flooring,” explains Kathryn Cousins, Spa Treatments Manager at Gleneagles.

A luxurious recommendation

Gleneagles Spa and Hotel wanted to create an area where guests could be cocooned and looked after impeccably. Interior designer Amanda Rosa found Kährs Walnut Vermont, which fulfilled both the style and functional qualities required.

“A lot of spa guests have commented on the beauty and quality of the floor, and it really does add that little something extra to customers’ perceptions of the spa. The views expressed by our guests show that we have succeeded in integrating the perception of design and our caring service,” says Kathryn Cousins.
