Creating the most beautiful
wood floors

There is a growing interest in more intricate designs and patterns among interior designers and customers. At Kährs, we appreciate this development and continue to develop new ways to bring beauty and design to our wood flooring, increasing possibilities for personal choices.

With different refinement techniques we can further enhance the look and feel of our floors:

Brushing to last

Brushing the surface highlights the natural structure of the grain and creates additional texture adding an enhanced wood feeling to your floor. We vary the brushing effect depending on the wood species and use brushes made from different materials and hardness.
Brushing often takes place together with other refining treatments such as beveling of edges and staining. The final appearance and expression of the floor is also intimately linked with your choice of surface treatment.

Color: not just something to have on the walls

We use stains to further enhance the natural color tones. Staining also allows us to turn our flooring into completely different colors adding a whole new dimension to the natural wood. Kährs provides a wide range of stained options – from the palest white and whisper grays to rich mocha and charcoal shades.

Beveling: a small but important role

Beveling the edges of a 1-strip floor accentuates each individual board, giving the floor a distinct and elegant look. Kährs provides a number of floors with the edges beveled to varying degrees – from “microbeveling”, very tiny clarification and reinforcement of the edges created using sandpaper; to more dramatic, stronger beveling on both the long and the short sides, providing a rustic and robust appearance for your floor.

Handscraped

By using different wood scraping and sanding manual tools you can give a new wood floor a worn appearance. A great amount of manual work is put into these floors, which provide a truly rustic character.
