Choose the right surface for your floor

The surface treatment you select for your floor affects the natural beauty and durability of the wood. We provide four different surface treatments: silk matte, matte, gloss, and Nature oil. No matter what surface treatment you choose, your floor will be ready to walk on as soon as it is installed.

All Kährs surface treatments are solvent-free. In 1984, we were the first flooring manufacturer to implement an entirely solvent-free production process.

Silk matte finish – durable and easy to keep clean Finished floors are durable and easy to keep clean. Our silk matte finish complements the wood’s character by accentuating its natural structure. It also makes the floor more durable and easy to clean. Despite its hardness, the Kährs finishing is exceptionally thin and does not conceal the structure of the wood as so many others. Unlike many other surface treatments, our silk matte is not artificially shiny.
Matte finish – feeling of untreated bare wood Matte finish is as hardwearing and easy to maintain as our silk matte finish and gives the impression that the floor is made of completely untreated bare wood. You can clearly feel the soft, natural surface of our matte floors when touch with your hand or walk barefoot on the floor.
Nature-oiled floors Kährs Nature oil makes your floors look amazingly beautiful and natural. The oil brings out the fine structure and grain of the wood and deepens the natural wood color. Floors treated with Nature oil are easy to maintain and keep clean but they need a little more care and they need to be oiled at regular intervals. The huge advantage is that your floor becomes more and more beautiful, with a deeper tone, every time you oil it.
